A little more detail

Classic and exotic car inspections and appraisals

A listing and a set of photographs only tell part of a car’s story. Pytstop Motorcars provides pre-purchase inspections, condition reviews and vehicle appraisals to help clients make informed decisions about classic, exotic and collectible cars.

An inspection and an appraisal answer different questions. An inspection looks at the vehicle’s condition within an agreed scope. An appraisal focuses on value for a stated purpose. Tell us whether you are considering a purchase, reviewing a car you own, or need help understanding a particular concern.

We begin with the make and model, location, available records and the reason for the review. Our New York network is particularly strong on Long Island and in Queens and Brooklyn. For a car outside the area, we can discuss whether an appropriate review can be coordinated.

Good to know

Your questions,
answered.

Is a pre-purchase inspection the same as an appraisal?

No. An inspection focuses on condition within an agreed scope; an appraisal addresses value for a specified purpose. We can discuss which service fits your situation.

What does an inspection include?

The scope depends on the car, access, location and your concerns. We discuss the proposed checks, any limitations and how findings will be communicated before the work is arranged.

Can an appraisal be used for insurance or another formal purpose?

Explain the purpose and any requirements from the receiving party first. We can discuss whether the proposed appraisal is appropriate; acceptance depends on that party’s requirements.
